16 true facts about the highly iconic couple….Mickey & Minnie Mouse ! And some things you may not have known!

1.) If it weren’t for Walt Disney’s wife Lillian , Mickey Mouse would have been named Mortimer Mouse . It was Lily’s suggestion that he be named Mickey.

(As well, Charlie Chaplin was the inspiration Walt Disney utilized when he created Mickey Mouse )!

2.) Mickey Mouse made his debut on November 18, 1928 in “Steamboat Willie” at the Colony Theatre, New York City.

(As well, November 18th 1928 has been deemed the actual birthdays, for both Mickey & Minnie Mouse)!

3.) The first time Mickey referred to Minnie as his girlfriend was through song in 1929’s Mickey’s Follies, where he sang that he “got a sweetie…she’s my little Minnie Mouse.”

4.) Both of Minnie’s parents are farmers, her fathers name was Marcus Mouse & appeared in a comic strip called “Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers”.

5.) Minnie’s full name is “Minnie Minerva Mouse” .

6.) Minnie has said this about her ultimate dream man ; “He’ll stride into the room; a light will glow from him.

“In private life, Mickey is married to Minnie”.

10.) Minnie is an unofficial Disney Princess. In fact, Mickey once said to her: “Gosh, Minnie, you’ve always been a princess to me.”

11.) Walt Disney actually provided the original voices for both Mickey and Minnie from 1929 to 1946. He just didn’t like any of the other voice actors originally cast for the roles.

12.) Mickey’s rival, Mortimer Mouse, is actually Minnie’s ex-boyfriend .

13.) There was also another character named Mortimer Mouse , Which was actually Minnie’s Uncle .

14.) Minnie has been referred as the First Lady of the Disney Company .

15.) The woman who voiced Minnie, “Russi Taylor”, married the man who voiced Mickey, “Wayne Allwine” in 1991. They were married until Wayne’s death in 2009.

16.) in 2018 , Minnie Mouse also received a Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
