Epcot’s “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” to end in 2019 ?

Disney Rumors …. True Or False ?

“Epcot Forever” is on Its way In to replace “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” ?

Yes, it really is true ! But, “Epcot Forever” will only be a temporary show until the permanent show starts sometime in 2020 .

So, If you want to catch one more “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” nighttime spectacular at Epcot, hopefully you can swing a trip to Epcot to see it before the Fall hits !

As of September 30th 2019, “IllumiNations” will be done after a lengthy 20 year run & on October 1st 2019, “Epcot Forever” will start .

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, an All-New Land, Opens August 29, 2019 in Walt Disney World ! (May 31st 2019 in Disneyland-Anaheim CA)

Well, people have been extremely patient waiting for this to open, let alone hearing it will be opening in August 2019 in Walt Disney World !

There’s a lot to know about what the park will have once it opens ( rides, attractions, food, souvenirs) and what will be opening later in the year .

Wintertime in Disney World & packing for it .

Visiting Walt Disney World during winter (From around November through end of February), has pros and cons .

“The Pro’s” have several nice things to actually consider . There is very low park attendance, which is a huge advantage for guests .

There’s hardly any wait times for the rides , abundance of fast passes , cheaper resort costs and getting into the restaurants you’ve been wanting to try are much easier to get reservations for !

“The Con’s”, Most guests picture Florida as lots of sunshine and warmth, during high peak of the day you may feel warmer , but think around the 50’s to low 70’s.

But at night however, we have felt it as low as 34 degrees in December and freezing while riding rides such as the people mover .

I had to buy Minnie Mouse gloves this past visit for Christmas it was so cold .

And we had the heat cranking in our resort verses the air conditioner at night !

Even during a nighttime ride on the people Mover at an “After Hours” Event , it was freezing! It was about 39 degrees !

And I was trying to heal up from two herniated discs in my back , but the cold was causing my back to hurt even more than it already did ! (We actually left early)

The cold weather at Walt Disney World can be good news if you hate big crowds and plan accordingly on your wardrobe.

If your from States with colder months , don’t forget to just bring those long sleeves, pants, coats and you’ll probably need gloves and scarves too ! (Seriously)

Bring a couple short sleeve shirts and shorts, but they will be good to change into in the “latter parts” of the day .

You won’t be doing much swimming most likely, however most of the resorts have heated pools if you still want to take a dip !

Just remember Florida also gets their share of Winter , minus real snow (for now )! And some days may hit mid 70’s and feel just right and comfortable .

Winter packing tips :

*Pack clothes that you can layer.

*Wear short things like short sleeve shirts with a sweater , hoodie or sweatshirt.

*Bring cold gear. Do bring hats, gloves, a scarf, and a coat.

*Bring hot gear (summer-type clothing)

*Check the weather everyday

*Do bring a swimsuit

*Know yourself, and what you can tolerate.

*Bring rain gear.

Christmas in Disney & Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Disney World is simply beautiful during the Christmas season, with decorations everywhere & in every park and resort !

They offer special holiday shows, holiday foods, holiday souvenirs and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party . And not to mention how exquisite the resorts are !

With all of that said, if you don’t like big crowds, it’s not the best idea to visit Walt Disney World . (Unless you attempt a small 2 or 3 day trip just to get that Christmas Disney Magic) !

Planning and patience are a huge must when there for the holiday season . We personally go yearly , so we know the best times to go “here & there” and when to avoid certain parks or areas .

The “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” is absolutely a blast and gorgeous! The mix of Christmas music, Disney snow down Main Street USA and the most amazing smells you could imagine from all the baked goodies !

You get free cocoa, cider , cookies , chocolates and other goodies as well ! There’s a special “park map” just for the Christmas party , that shows what areas of the park you get everything .

On top of all of it , the castle & fireworks display are pure magic !

It will send chills all over you , and don’t be surprised if you tear up from all of it combined!

We even take a small Christmas tree for our resort room to let ourselves fully have the spirit of the season .

For us , Christmas is just not Christmas unless we go to Disney at some point for the Christmas season !

Celebrating special events in Disney World….they aim to please !

Are you going to be celebrating a special event while in Walt Disney World & Have you wondered if you can Get a celebration cake delivered to your room?

At Resorts that offer Private Dining , the answer is “yes”!

For any other resort, follow the prompts on the Cake Hotline phone number (below) to speak with someone at your resort about the availability of delivery.

You do not need to be in the room when the cake is delivered, but you must already be checked in to your reservation.

(The white chocolate cakes are amazing! This was our Celebration Cake this past year, and it was phenomenal )!

When you just get exhausted in the parks at Disney World (and you will)!

There are number of longer show-type attractions/rides that take place in dimmed, air-conditioned rooms. (Most of them anyway)

• Epcot World Showcase – Several of the countries have Short Films that run about 15/20 mins , find them in : Canada, France, America & China

• Hollywood Studios – Beauty & the Beast musical show

• Hollywood Studios – Voyage of the Little Mermaid

• Hollywood Studios- Indiana Jone Epic Stunt Spectacular

• Animal Kingdom – Flights of Wonder (shaded, but not air-conditioned)

• Animal Kingdom – Wildlife Express Train (Africa)

• Disney Springs – AMC Movie Theatre (get a longer nap for a small price)

Don’t forget you can ride the monorail & boats and also seek out shaded benches as well ! Just to get the re-charge you need when exhaustion hits you !

Tickets already on sale & looks to be August for the first “MNSSHP” ! Always a blast if you’ve never been to own !

“I seriously think the adults have more fun than the kids to be honest” !

Returning treats (besides places to get loads of candy) include the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” stage show in front of Cinderella Castle featuring the mischievous Sanderson sisters from the hit Disney film “Hocus Pocus” (my favorite Halloween movie)!

Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade and “Happy HalloWishes,” the fall spectacular led by the infamous Disney villains!

Snacks and beverages and of course treat or treating to all the candy stops !

Definitely a Bucket List item to do !

Disney Rumors (Toy Story Land) True or False ?

In “Toy Story Land” at Hollywood Studios , The Toy Story Characters Will Drop To The ground If You Shout to them, “Andy’s Coming”!

But, is it true ?

The rumor goes , that if you yell at any of the characters in the park “Andy’s Coming” , that they will fall to the ground just like in the movie!

In the past this may have happened now & then……..BUT , Disney has made sure, it will not happen again !

Characters falling to the ground every time someone would shout to them is quite the medical hazard and sure the characters would grow very tired of actually falling down all the time !

As of now, if you would still yell “Andy’s coming”……most likely the characters will say Andy has gone away to college or the characters may act like they just don’t hear you & walk away !

So , the rumor is false !

Should we be thanking the Phoenicians ?

The huge geosphere of the Spaceship Earth ball hovers a staggering 180 feet above the park.

Once you are seated on the ride , you are taken on a slow-moving, sixteen minute narrated journey into the past.

As you slowly glide past the amazing audio-animatronics scenes, you’ll notice that each scene depicts a very important time in our history .

You begin your journey with the caveman era and the invention of fire.

You will then witness papyrus (the first paper) being invented by an unknown Egyptian.

The alphabet is then invented by none other than the Phoenicians, hence the name of this post , “If you can read this, Thank the Phoenicians” !

So did the Phoenicians really invent an alphabet at all ? Some Historians say yes, but others will disagree .

What we do know is that the Phoenicians, who traded with civilizations all around the Mediterranean & beyond, were a big key to spreading the use of a common alphabet around the entire globe.

Can Cinderella’s Castle be taken down during Hurricanes ?

A rumor that gets debated quite often is that Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World In Florida can be taken down in the event of a incredibly powerful hurricane , as to protect the towering beauty she is 🏰

Although it is most likely true that some spires on the top of the Castle can be removed, it would be highly unlikely that Disney would take the time to take them down.

Cinderella’s Castle was specially designed to be able to withstand very strong hurricane force winds and unless a hurricane was strong enough to throw massive & multiple objects at the breathtaking centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom, it just is not going anywhere!

So the Rumor is “False” !
