Mary Poppins attraction coming to the UK Pavilion in Epcot !

Epcot is opening Disney World’s very first Mary Poppins attraction, and it’s going to be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Dick Van Dyke himself took the stage at Disney’s D23 Expo fan convention over the weekend to reveal the news, which came as an utter surprise to theme park fans.

Epcot will also expand upon the beloved film’s charming setting as Epcot’s United Kingdom pavilion opens its own version of Cherry Tree Lane, allowing guests to walk its iconic cobblestone street like Jane and Michael Banks.

No details were provided as to what the first Mary Poppins attraction will entail and whether it will be a show or a ride , but we can only assume it will be practically perfect in every way.

Epcot is undergoing a massive transformation that will see a retheming of the entire park beyond World Showcase, and the addition of Mary Poppins marks the move toward adding a cinematic tie-in to each of the 11 featured countries.

Similar to how Epcot’s Norway pavilion embraced “Frozen” theming with experiences including a shop, princess-meet-and-greet, and Frozen Ever After ride, the United Kingdom pavilion, which currently hosts a Mary Poppins meet-and-greet, is likely to retain its historical nods while embracing storylines and characters from the films.

The France pavilion will honor “Beauty and the Beast” in a new sing-along show debuting in January, as well as “Ratatouille” with a ride opening summer 2020.

Meanwhile, a live puppet show, interactive exhibit, and marketplace stalls honor Pixar’s “Coco” in Mexico, showing how Epcot is incorporating box office hits more and more within its attractions.

A “Moana” warrior princess and “Guardians of the Galaxy” superhero squad will be part of the park’s future as well, but the addition of Mary Poppins is nothing short of historic.

This newly announced attraction will be the very first permanent ode to the Julie Andrews film which debuted in 1964 and saw a resurgence with last year’s Emily Blunt-helmed “Mary Poppins Returns.”

A stunning new poster featuring the whimsical nanny floating above Cherry Tree Lane and the London skyline also debuted at Disney’s D23 Expo fan convention over the weekend.

Walk around the world bricks to be removed from Magic Kingdom, but you can get your own Replica brick !

“Walk Around the World bricks” are going to be removed in phases both from Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Ticket and Transportation Center.

There are two options for guests, those visiting the Magic Kingdom in person can pick up their brick in the park, or you can order it online and have it sent to you.

Guests Visiting the Park:

Starting March 18, Guests can stop by City Hall at Magic Kingdom Park or Guest Relations at Disney Springs to verify their previous brick by sharing the name and hometown of the Guest who sponsored it.

After verification, they will be given a one-time use voucher to present by, or before Aug. 31, 2019, at Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. (at Magic Kingdom Park – separate theme park admission required) or the Marketplace Co-Op (at Disney Springs), enabling you to purchase one commemorative 6” brick at a special price of $10 (plus tax).

Guests who want a brick shipped to them: Guests should email guest.services@disneyworld.com or call 407-828-2701 with the name and hometown of the Guest who sponsored the brick.

Disney Rumors (Toy Story Land) True or False ?

In “Toy Story Land” at Hollywood Studios , The Toy Story Characters Will Drop To The ground If You Shout to them, “Andy’s Coming”!

But, is it true ?

The rumor goes , that if you yell at any of the characters in the park “Andy’s Coming” , that they will fall to the ground just like in the movie!

In the past this may have happened now & then……..BUT , Disney has made sure, it will not happen again !

Characters falling to the ground every time someone would shout to them is quite the medical hazard and sure the characters would grow very tired of actually falling down all the time !

As of now, if you would still yell “Andy’s coming”……most likely the characters will say Andy has gone away to college or the characters may act like they just don’t hear you & walk away !

So , the rumor is false !

Disneyland was to have a Wizard of Oz Ride ?

Because of a doomed mountain ride, called “Rock Candy Mountain” which was to be one of the first additions to Fantasyland in the 1950s. But with too many bumps during planning , it just never happened .

Then roll forward to “Rainbow Road to Oz” attraction , which was to be a part of the inner caves of the Rock Candy Mountain .

The ride would have portrayed a surprise birthday party for Dorothy in the Emerald City, along with the Tin Woodsman’s castle.

Sadly, due to the failure of Rock Candy Mountain , also meant the failure of Rainbow Road to Oz.

Should we be thanking the Phoenicians ?

The huge geosphere of the Spaceship Earth ball hovers a staggering 180 feet above the park.

Once you are seated on the ride , you are taken on a slow-moving, sixteen minute narrated journey into the past.

As you slowly glide past the amazing audio-animatronics scenes, you’ll notice that each scene depicts a very important time in our history .

You begin your journey with the caveman era and the invention of fire.

You will then witness papyrus (the first paper) being invented by an unknown Egyptian.

The alphabet is then invented by none other than the Phoenicians, hence the name of this post , “If you can read this, Thank the Phoenicians” !

So did the Phoenicians really invent an alphabet at all ? Some Historians say yes, but others will disagree .

What we do know is that the Phoenicians, who traded with civilizations all around the Mediterranean & beyond, were a big key to spreading the use of a common alphabet around the entire globe.

Can Cinderella’s Castle be taken down during Hurricanes ?

A rumor that gets debated quite often is that Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World In Florida can be taken down in the event of a incredibly powerful hurricane , as to protect the towering beauty she is 🏰

Although it is most likely true that some spires on the top of the Castle can be removed, it would be highly unlikely that Disney would take the time to take them down.

Cinderella’s Castle was specially designed to be able to withstand very strong hurricane force winds and unless a hurricane was strong enough to throw massive & multiple objects at the breathtaking centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom, it just is not going anywhere!

Well, it’s not as deep as you may think !

Disney adds special chemical dyes to the water, coloring it a “specific shade of green” to disguise the actual depth of the water and the Jungle Cruise Ride is only about 5ft deep!

*Have you ever notice the curious smell of the water on the rides ?

Disney water rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, It’s a Small World and Splash Mountain have a chemical added to them called “Bromine” .

Bromine is more pricy than chlorine , however it’s less harsh on your skin when you get wet from the rides and just as effective on killing bacteria in the water !
